The brand’s recognition and quality hold true today under the leadership of Whirlpool Corporation, which acquired the brand as part of the Maytag acquisition in 2006.
So… Maytag gobbled up Goodman, who had previously gobbled up Raytheon, who had previously gobbled up Amana, and then Maytag was gobbled up by Whirlpool. So the little fish keep getting eaten by the bigger fish. Maytag was a big fish but a bigger one come along and the brand is now owned by Whirlpool.
What’s The Difference Between Whirlpool And Amana?
The main difference between the two is that they target different markets. The Amana brand is designed to be more budget-friendly and only creates specific appliances whereas Whirlpool has a wide range of different markets it is into.
But… this is generally speaking because under the Amana umbrella Whirlpool is still releasing some brand new innovations and new types of technologically advanced appliances. But as a rule of thumb Amana is more for the entry-level type market.
Is Amana As Good As Whirlpool?
The products in many cases even look very similar and will have the same quality just that Amana may not have all the bells and whistles of their more expensive counterparts.

Does Whirlpool Make Amana Refrigerators?
